PRemote-HD is a method developed by Dallmeier that uses transcoding to enable the transmission of HD and megapixel streams even at low bandwidths. PRemote-HD is useful for locations where images need to be recorded at the highest quality but have only a low-bandwidth network available, such as DSL networks with 128-kbps uploads.
As opposed to standard transmission methods, such as dual streaming that only change quality settings for the transmission of live images, PRemote-HD offers bandwidth-saving transmission of recorded images. It is not only possible to stream live images, but also to view recordings over great distances at the highest resolution.
PRemote - HD enables split streaming for SD cameras up to 16 times, which are transmitted as just one image. Consequently, only one stream is necessary. PRemote-HD not only supports Dallmeier cameras but also thirdparty network cameras that record via RTSP in M-JPEG or H.264. With SmartZoom, the relevant image area that is zoomed in on is cropped from the total image. Only that image section is transmitted, thereby reducing the size of the image without changing its resolution. In other words, it is possible to achieve a higher resolution, and thus higher richness of detail, while the bit rate remains the same.
*Switches from split to single image with just a mouse click
*Supports third-party cameras which record through RTSP in M-JPEG or H.264
*Available for Dallmeier recorders ? Compatible with existing Dallmeier systems once software update is completed
