| In version 2.5 of the S2 NetBox, the development team used user feedback from our installed base of over 1,300 systems to add numerous new features and enhancements that make operating the system more productive and easier than ever. A wide range of modifications to the user interface, and core system functions have been made.
Version 2.5 includes a flexible method for defining user roles that allow restricting individual usersˇ ability to view and manipulate video cameras, unlock portals, and view person data. This user role defi nition capability is also integrated with the S2 NetBox threat level functionality such that changes in system threat level can ?? which users are permitted access to the system user interface.
Also available for the first time in version 2.5, is a sophisticated scheduled event processor that lets users schedule overrides to portal unlocks, input arming, and output activation. Users can now conveniently schedule such functions as extending portal unlock hours. Scheduled actions can take effect immediately or they can be programmed to occur at any point in the future. User comments associated with scheduled actions clarify the reason that each item was added to the schedule.
Users of larger S2 NetBox systems will appreciate the new ability to defi ne favorite portals and cameras, thus reducing the clutter in ??down ??ion lists. Favorite portals and cameras are maintained by the system on an individual user basis, and appear first in ??down lists. It is also possible to organize these lists to show the most recently used items or the entire available list of items.
Larger system users will also appreciate the capacity increases in the number of definable access levels and the number of available access levels per person, as well as the new ability to create time specifi cation groups. Time specifi cation groups allow the creation of time definitions of arbitrary complexity, simplifying the defi nition of timed events and access levels in the system. |
